THE BAGEL BAKERY
environmental and Branding Design
Overview:
For this project I explored the history of bagels by designing a brand, menu, packaging, and storefront based on the origin of bagels from the Polish city of Krakow. I took a local Monterey bagel shop called the Bagel Bakery as a starting point for this project. For the design, I focused on a traditional Polish flora design and paired it with a playful font that was implanted throughout the design. The storefront was made in Sketch Up and designed as a Polish cottage with the elements from the menu in mind.
Struggles:
The struggle I faced during this project was ensuring that the cottage and menu were cohesive. I went through many different colors and floral design interactions before landing on the final design. When creating the cottage I struggled with having a complete design in Sketch Up, which took a long time because the sketch kept buffering. Next time I will look into working with Sketch Up pro or on a computer with better ram.

Outcomes:
The outcome of the Bagel Bakery's historical redesign was a brand new brand with a logo, menu, packaging, and storefront that pays homage to where bagels were created. I also gained growth and knowledge in working with Sketch Up.
